Order Rhynchocephalia

From the time of the dinosaurs

Sphenodon punctatus

There's only one family of rhynchocephalids left alive, with two species, and even those are severely endangered. Rhynchocephalids originated in the Mosozoic Era, and lived alongside the dinosaurs. They are very simple creatures, but they have some very unique features, as you'll see.
